Janosch Sbeih

Research Associate, sfs, MAKE-IT

Janosch Sbeih is the Co-founder of Reciproka, a mutualist infrastructure designed to support cooperative transitions through open cooperative accumulation and technical assistance. As of yet, Reciproka is a project under development and currently reaching out to collaborators to offer SME owners and employees the financial means as well as the technical and process support necessary to successfully transition their enterprises into open worker cooperatives.

Janosch is currently employed as a research associate by the Social Research Centre Dortmund for the EU Horizon2020 project MAKE-IT: Understanding Collective Awareness Platforms with the Maker Movement, where he researches social innovation and sustainability scenarios for the maker movement.

As a new economist by training, he holds an MA in “Economics for Transition” from Schumacher College, Plymouth University, and an MSc in “Comparative Law, Economics and Finance: Governance for the Commons” from International University College Turin, Università di Torino.   

In addition to his work for open cooperative transitions, he is a founding member of DEEP Germany: Dialogue, Empathic Engagement & Peacebuilding and a fellow of St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace.
